Here are some notable Worlds moments that happened after we sent out last week’s newsletter:
Both South Coast Cheer Fearless and Top Gun Allstars TGLC went back-to-back-to-back, winning 3 years in a row 🏆
A correction: last week, we said that Twist & Shout Adam & Eve became the first Non-Tumbling team to win Worlds back-to-back. This is still true, but we forgot another team… Thanks to our follower Sophie (@iamcoachsophie), who notified us that Unity Allstars Black from England also went back-to-back (International Open Non-Tumbling Coed 7)!
World Cup Omni (International U18 Non-Tumbling Coed 6) became the first team from World Cup to win Worlds since 2008, other than Shooting Stars 💫
Shoutout to this Australian athlete. Talk about commitment!
For the first time in 10 years, Cheer Extreme Senior Elite won the Large Senior division (we guess you haven’t missed this).
Double O from Top Gun Allstars made history, becoming the first team ever to win Worlds 5 times in a row!
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Top Gun Allstars broke another record… With six gold medals, they now hold the record for the most gold won by a gym at Worlds in a year.
Highest score of the competition: Top Gun Allstars Revelation 🦁
So to sum it up: Top Gun did the thing.

Lawsuit against Navarro Cheer
Trigger warning: This section contains topics like sexual abuse. Please skip reading this if you need to.
It’s been a whole month since we wrote about a cheer-related lawsuit, so it was about time for a new one…
(Want to read about the other lawsuits we have reported on? Click here for all our previous newsletters mentioning lawsuits)
The lawsuit is filed by a former Navarro cheer team athlete and is against Navarro College, coach Monica Aldama, and others. The document (which you can read here) details cases of a “Pervasive Culture of Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, and Intimidation“.
It explains how the former athlete was assaulted, but no action was taken, how Monica allegedly offered to help her cheer anywhere she wanted in exchange for her silence, and how she was later intimidated and threatened by Navarro athletes.
Monica and others mentioned have either deactivated their social media profiles or turned off the ability to comment on posts. Monica has also released a statement which you can read here, claiming that the allegations are false.
Questions are also being raised about the “House of Cheer“ live tour scheduled this summer which involved both Monica and athletes mentioned in the lawsuit.
We will be following up & reporting on future updates about the case.
