D2 Summit & Allstar Worlds recap
Just like last year with Woodlands Elite G.I. Janes, a D2 summit team got disqualified “due to competing with athlete(s) who were not released from old rosters.“ So sad to see & we hope for a great comeback next year!
“Best Performance of probably the ENTIRE AllStar Worlds“ - you just have to watch this ✨
Thought TAI - Ice Queen’s pyramid from last year (06:22 here) was crazy? Well, it was even more crazy this year! Watch it here and pick up your jaw from the floor afterward… 😧
There were a lot of ties at The D2 Summit, including…
Ties for first place in L2 Senior - Medium (XCA Snipers & Desert Elite Mavericks Rogue), L3 Senior - Medium (Koach All Stars Diamonds & Pro Scouts Lady Pros), L4 Senior Coed - Small (All 4 Cheer Sirens & Evolution Cheer Teal Shock), and in L4 Senior Open Coed (Aspire Cheer Academy Fate 2.0 & Maine Stars Dynasty) which the announcer revealed in this cute way.
Ties for 2nd, 4th, AND 6th place in the L3 Junior - Small (A) division!
Now & Later from Candy Elite All-Stars (yes, their teams have candy-inspired names which are so cute) competed at both Allstar Worlds and D2 Summit - and won both! They first competed at Allstar Worlds (XSmall Senior Level 3) and scored 99.5, then went on to win the D2 Summit (L3 Senior - Small) with a score of 98.6 🍭
Top 10 scores of the D2 Summit (again, thanks to CheerTheory):

Updates on the Navarro Cheer lawsuit
Don’t know what we’re talking about? Read more in last week’s newsletter:
After the lawsuit against Navarro Cheer coach Monica Aldama was made public, she has been out on USA Cheer’s “Ineligibility List“.
The list, (which rules coaches apparently still break) is “a list of individuals whose memberships have been suspended or revoked related to Athlete Protection as well as individuals who are not USA Cheer members, but are barred from membership due to investigations, arrests, or convictions related to Athlete Protection.“
Monica is currently under “Temporary Suspension” for “Member policy violation related to athlete protection”.
Following this news, Monica posted the following statement (click on the post to read):
+ New lawsuit related to the “Cheer Live“ & “House of Cheer“ tours
The short version:
Former Navarro Cheer assistant coach, Andy Cosferent, is suing “Faculty Productions” (which is owned by Live Nation Entertainment according to the suit) for $300k and stealing of social media assets - and claims that they have broken their contract.
The longer version:
As stated, “Faculty Productions” is owned by Live Nation Entertainment according to the suit. This company was granted the exclusive production rights to the “Cheer Live” tour, which featured Andy, coach Monica Aldama, and Navarro athletes.
“Mandy Entertainment“ is a company who’s members are Andy Cosferent and Monica Aldama. They both own 50% of the company.
What happened?
Here are some parts of the lawsuit document:
The payment 💸
“On the heels of the success of the Netflix documentary, on March 13, 2020, Faculty Productions, LLC and Mandy Entertainment, LLC f/s/o Monica Aldama and Andy Cosferent entered into a contract with respect to a “Cheer Live” tour“.
“Faculty agreed to pay Mandy Entertainment a fee (deductible from the tour’s income) in the amount of Three Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($320,000.00)”
“On or about October 7, 2022, Faculty provided Mandy Entertainment with the Preliminary Statement required (…) of the agreement. The statement showed Mandy Entertainment was owed $317,733.00 in Net Profits, and that Faculty’s share of the tour income was $476,599.00.21. However, Faculty did not pay 75% of Net Profits shown to be due to ME as of that date, as required by the contract.”
The social media assets 📲
“‘Cheer Live’ social media accounts were created to promote the tour. By the end of the tour, the accounts had well over 100,000 followers.”
“Pursuant to paragraph 5 of the agreement, Mandy Entertainment owns all intellectual property related to the tour, including the social media accounts and the name “Cheer Live””.
“Around this same time, it was discovered that Faculty and Mrs. Aldama were planning a second “Cheer Live” tour without Mr. Cosferent.”
“Then, on February 25, 2023, Faculty and Mrs. Aldama announced a second “Cheer Live” tour under the name “House of Cheer.””
“(…) Instead of creating their own social media accounts, Faculty, with Mrs. Aldama’s assistance and support, took Mandy Entertainment’s social media accounts, deleted all of the posts on those accounts, and changed the usernames and handles to “House of Cheer.””
