USASF explains 18+ age grid change
About a month ago, we talked about the USASF’s changes for next season (find everything in this newsletter):
The changes included no longer allowing athletes under 18 to be on Senior Open/International Open teams - keeping the divisions 18+ only (except for teams outside the U.S.).
The USASF has now released a statement, talking more about why this change will be made. Click here to read it.
Latest results & bids
Some of the events that took place were the Future Cheer Spotlight Showdown (England), ICE Spring Thaw Out (Wales), USA All Star Super Nationals (California), Spirit Fest Grand Nationals (Rhode Island) & Marquee Main Event (Nevada).
Among the teams who took home full-paid bids to Worlds were The California All Stars Sparkle & Rangers, Nor Cal Elite Venus, East Celebrity Elite FAME, World Cup Odyssey, US Cheer Rebels Rage Rebels, Greensboro Allstars Diamond Elite & Cheer Athletics Kingcats.
The Marquee Main Event recap
This new competition was announced last August, which we talked about in this newsletter. Here’s what we wrote:
The Spirit Network, an independent (= not affiliated with Varsity, USASF, etc.) event producer has announced a new event that looks INSANE! 🤩
Some of the top level 6 teams in the United States will face off in 7 different rounds.
We wanted to recap the competition, but haven’t seen much from the event at all… except for the teams & competition rounds:
And we can’t find the full results anywhere, but it seems like Lady Lightning won the whole thing?
Did you watch the event? How was it?
These are just a few of the results and bids, we just can't cover them all! For more of the latest results & bids from the weekend, we recommend CheerTheory & Varsity TV.
If you feel we missed anything important/fun (from anywhere in the world), reply to this email & let us know so we can include it next time!
