Errors, errors, errors ❌
Athlete kicked off team because of hair policy, team dropped out due to “multiple scoring inaccuracies” & auction to help athletes is live!

Auction to help athletes with expenses is live
Did you miss our newsletter explaining this auction about a month ago? Here’s what we wrote:
CheerCast is putting together an auction to help athletes with their expenses:
“Right now, I have five items. It may be the smallest auction ever, but I am hoping people will donate to the cause. So tag your gyms, coaches, team moms, pro shops, small business owners, event producers, cheer companies and see if they will send an item for the auction.“

“Maryland all-star cheerleader kicked off team after alleged incident involving hair policy”
This story got a lot of attention (and rightly so) in the past week. Here’s some of what Yahoo News wrote:
“Controversy (…) brews after a mom says her daughter was ultimately kicked off the Maryland Twisters cheerleading team, and it all started because of her child’s hair.
“The first thing our coach says to us is ‘she can’t wear her hair like that,'” said her mom(…) the team gave members two hair options for competition. Woolridge decided to opt for the half up half down hairstyle for her daughter, a style she’s done before in past cheer seasons, but this was an issue for one of the coaches at this competition.
Ultimately the conversation between Woolridge with management ended with her daughter being kicked off the team.
“Our values simply do not align. It’s best for both parties that you no longer continue at the Maryland Twisters program,” the email stated.”
The gym first released the following statement, and this email was later sent to gym members explaining more and that the coach is no longer part of the program.
